GeeXboX: Linux distribution media center goes 2.0

by gma last modified 2011-09-20 03:22

New beginning for the GeeXboX project which, after long months of silence, is back as version 2.0. Linux distribution designed for media center type uses is now based on XBMC and supports ARM.

Initiated in 2002, the GeeXboX project is to develop a Linux distribution particularly light and easy to use, capable of being launched from a Live CD or USB drive (without prior installation) and offering the user to read the all content of their choice, regardless of the codec or container. Riding the wave of Media Center PC (HTPC), the 2.0 version of GeeXboX is now available for download.
